Blu-Ray Encoder

Professional Blu-ray Disc Authoring Workflow
This high-quality BD encoder is 100% compliant with all Blu-ray disc players. Jointly developed by VSofts and NetBlender, this product combines the highest video quality with complete BD player compatibility, fully integrated into the DoStudio workflow.

Blu Ray Authoring is gaining momentum in professional video applications. Unfortunately, many of today’s suppliers of video encoding technology have not understood BD requirements well enough. In order to guarantee playback on all BD player hardware, BD Forum has created a BD compliance specification and verification program. Few of today’s encoding solutions pass this verification, yet they claim BD compatibility. The result of such poor implementation are discs which do not play properly on many BD players. Video can be jerky and in some cases can hang the BD player requiring the consumer to power cycle the unit. Our encoder, jointly developed with NetBlender, generates video which passes BD verifiers from Sony and other testing sources. More info

Broadcast production, field camera truck and electronic news gathering (ENG) applications require the high-quality AVC-Intra compressed format. Our FPGA design offers real-time 50 and 100 Mbps encoding of SDI source content, with side-by-side comparison of original to encoded result.

The Panasonic AVC-Intra format has gained momentum in Video Production and ENG (Electronic News Gathering) applications where Field Cameras and Ingestion Servers must transmit high quality video quickly and efficiently and most importantly without degrading the quality of content. VSofts, being a pioneer in H.264/AVC algorithms, has implemented the AVC-Intra encoder to be used in FPGAs for the above mentioned applications. Our demonstration running on a Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA shows two videos running side by side where original content is virtually indistinguishable from our AVC-Intra encoded video. More info
