AVC Solution Pack

VSS AVC Solution Pack is a set of Windows drivers (VFW and DirectShow interfaces) supporting H.264/AVC video encoding and decoding, AAC audio coding, RTP and MPEG2-TS approaches to real-time streaming tasks.

Components

A full-featured bandle of Windows components gives one a wide variety of usage scenarios: starting from standard video authoring/editing tools up to developing one's own application. H.264 DirectShow Decoder filter provides playback compatibility with Windows Media Player or any similar. VSS Stream Player application is designed to work exclusively with VSS filters for stream and file media playback.

CPU requirements

A minimum requirement for SD (720x480) live H.264 encoding would be Pentium-4 3.0GHz or a Core2Duo system. The decoding side is less demanding: any modern system will suite (Celeron, P4, Core Duo or higer).

Full HD (1920x1080) can be viewed on a Core2Duo 2.0 GHz PC. Full HD real-time encoding is already feasible on Intel Xeon QuadCore systems!
